When Making Homemade Dog Treats

Make them Healthy by using healthy ingredients...

We have come across many sites on the Internet, Face book, Blogs, etc. giving you recipes for homemade dog treats and we are surprised at how many of these recipes have unhealthy ingredients in them that our K-9's would be healthier without.  The ingredients our K-9's should never have are Wheat products, Corn, Salt and Refined sugars...

Here is a list of what we find as unhealthy ingredients for our K-9's:
Corn Meal, Corn Starch & Corn Syrup
Wheat and White flours
Regular peanut butter
White Sugar
Brown Sugar
Store bought chicken stock ( for they add many other ingredients)
Vanilla
Commercial applesauces
Bad oils(canola, vegetable...)

A list of some ingredients we find healthy for making dog treats:
Organic oats
Quinoa
Buckwheat
Oat flour
Free Range eggs
Honey
Black Strapped Molasses
Organic Cold Pressed Coconut Oil
Olive Oil
All Natural Organic Peanut butter
Organic Brown Rice
VEGGIES:  Sweet potato, carrot, peas, zucchini, kale, apples, pumpkin, spinach, parsley...
Ground ginger, Turmeric, Small amounts of Cinnamon
Berries: Blueberry, raspberry, black berry...
Organic & unsweetened applesauce

Do not hesitate to alter or exchange ingredients if needed to make the recipe healthier for your K-9.  For example: Substituting wheat or white flour with oat flour or regular peanut butter to all natural and organic.
